Dr. Billy Mak is currently the associate professor of Department of Accountancy, Economics and Finance, Hong Kong Baptist University. His research topics focus on the equity market, financial planning, and Hong Kong property market. He has authored numerous publications and papers on securities markets and investment. Dr. Mak is frequently interviewed by the media on economic and property market issues, and he is the guest host of the “Corporate Expo” program of Metro Finance Radio. He is also a special contributor to various newspapers.

On professional and community services, Dr. Mak is currently, a member of the HKSAR Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Advisory Committee, member of SFC Products Advisory Committee, member of the HKSAR Deposit Protection Appeals Tribunal, member of the Steering Committee for WAM Pilot Programme (the Pilot Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Asset and Wealth Management Sector) and member of the Licensing Committee of Hong Kong Gold & Silver Exchange Society, member of the Housing Authority, member of HKSAR Land Sharing Pilot Scheme Panel of Advisors, member of HKSAR Standing Commission on Civil Service Salaries and Conditions of Service and member of HKSAR Minimum Wage Commission.
